Hello, we’re Tom and James, and we’re thrilled to welcome you to Duck Inn. Nestled in the heart of Rottingdean, our historic pub is a place where locals and visitors alike can feel at home.

When we took over Duck Inn, our vision was to create a warm and welcoming space that celebrates great food, quality drinks, and a true sense of community. Our menu evolves with the seasons, featuring dishes crafted with care and complemented by some of Sussex’s best beers, ciders, and wines.

Meet Kate, the newest member of the team at The Duck Inn. She’s a 3.5-year-old rescue greyhound with the kindest soul and is just getting used to all the extra attention (and belly rubs).

Her table service could do with some improvement, but she’s settling in well—mostly supervising from her favourite spot. If you see her around, give her a gentle hello (and maybe a treat if she’s on her best behaviour).

The Duck Inn reopens at midday on Friday. Food will be served as usual, with a new menu from Chef James, including beef pie, crispy lamb, and potato terrine with smoked leeks.

On Sunday from midday, roast lunches will be available with all the trimmings.

The Duck Inn: What a First Year It’s Been!

What a whirlwind it’s been since we threw open the doors of The Duck Inn this spring! From our very first pint pulled to the unforgettable moments we’ve shared with all of you, this year has been nothing short of amazing – and we have so many people to thank for it.

To our brilliant suppliers who’ve kept us stocked with the finest local produce, to the talented brewers and winemakers whose creations have graced our bar, and to our wonderful customers – you’ve made this little pub the special place we dreamed it could be.

Since spring, we’ve packed so much into these few months. From garden gatherings in the summer sunshine to cosy evenings filled with hearty food and lively chats by the fire, it’s been an absolute joy to welcome you all. And let’s not forget our pub quiz nights (you lot are far too clever for your own good!), those magical seasonal menus, and the buzz of community spirit that fills the air here every day.

Of course, one of the highlights this year has been the incredible live music and events we’ve put on – Who could forget the unforgettable acoustic nights with the talented Toby and Will Or our very own shining star, Micky Danny M and his powerhouse sound system! and our new Sunday Jazz sessions have become a firm favourite. We can’t wait to keep building on this incredible vibe in the year ahead.

But we’re not done yet for 2024! Tonight, we’re throwing the party to end all parties – our first ever New Year’s Eve bash! If you haven’t sorted your plans yet, we still have a few tickets left, and we’d love to see you. Expect fabulous food, flowing drinks, and plenty of dancing to see in 2025 in style.

Here’s to a cracking start at The Duck Inn and an even brighter year ahead. Thank you for your support, your laughter, and your company – we couldn’t have done it without you.
